Refund Policy
B2B Service - No Refunds:
Answerplane is a business-to-business (B2B) service intended solely for commercial and organizational use. All subscription fees are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time to stop future billing, but cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.
- No refunds for partial months or unused portions of subscription periods
- Cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current period
- No refunds if your account is terminated for Terms violations
- No refunds for service dissatisfaction (use free trial to evaluate before purchasing)
- Downgrading your plan does not entitle you to a refund of the difference
- Service outages: You may be eligible for service credits (not cash refunds) under our SLA
Exceptions:
- Billing errors: Incorrect charges will be corrected with appropriate credits or refunds
- Service unavailability: If the Service is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours due to our fault, you may be eligible for a pro-rata refund for the affected period
- Material feature reduction: If we materially reduce your plan features without reducing pricing, you may be eligible for a pro-rata refund
Business Use Only:
By subscribing to our Service, you represent that you are acting on behalf of a business, organization, or commercial entity, and not as an individual consumer for personal, household, or family purposes. If you are an EU or UK individual consumer using the Service for non-commercial purposes, you may have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU. Please contact us at [email protected] to discuss your specific situation.
Usage Limits and Overages
Each subscription plan includes specific usage limits (governed questions per month, number of users, approved source connections, etc.). Unless your order form or plan expressly includes metered overage, usage is hard-capped by default. If you exceed your limits:
- Your service may be temporarily throttled, limited, or stopped until the next reset
- You may be required to upgrade to a higher plan
- Automatic overage charges do not apply to self-service launch plans unless your plan expressly says otherwise
- We reserve the right to suspend service until usage limits or billing issues are resolved
Plan Downgrades and Resource Limits
When you downgrade your subscription plan or if your plan expires:
- Immediate Enforcement: New resource limits apply immediately upon plan change
- Excess Resources: If you exceed the new plan's limits (databases, personalities, knowledge base entries), excess resources will be automatically disabled
- Resource Priority: Oldest resources are kept active first (based on creation date). Newer resources exceeding limits will be disabled.
- No Data Loss: Disabled resources are not deleted - they are marked as inactive and can be reactivated if you upgrade again
- Daily Compliance Check: We run automated checks daily to ensure organizations remain within plan limits
- Notification: You will be notified when resources are disabled due to plan limits
Example: If you downgrade from Business Plan (10 databases) to Starter Plan (1 database) while having 5 active databases, the 4 newest databases will be automatically disabled. Your oldest database will remain active.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
- You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
- No refunds will be provided for the remaining portion of your billing period
- You will have 30 days to export your data before account deletion

Service Level Agreement (SLA)
Uptime Commitment
Business & Enterprise Plans: We commit to 99.9% uptime (excluding scheduled maintenance). Uptime is calculated monthly.
Starter & Professional Plans: We strive for high availability but do not provide uptime guarantees or SLA credits.
Scheduled Maintenance
We perform scheduled maintenance as needed and will:
- Provide at least 48 hours advance notice for major maintenance
- Schedule maintenance during low-usage periods when possible
- Minimize maintenance windows to reduce impact
Service Credits
If we fail to meet our SLA commitment (Business & Enterprise plans only):
- 99.0% - 99.9% uptime: 10% service credit
- 95.0% - 99.0% uptime: 25% service credit
- Below 95.0% uptime: 50% service credit
How to Request SLA Credits:
- Submit request to [email protected] within 30 days of the incident
- Include: Date and time of downtime, duration, impact description
- We will investigate and respond within 5 business days
- Approved credits applied to your next invoice (not cash refunds)
Uptime Calculation: Measured monthly per organization. 99.9% uptime = less than 43 minutes of downtime per month. Downtime is defined as inability to access the dashboard or query connected databases for more than 5 consecutive minutes.
